Longshot Coffee announces a new market to their weekly farmers market schedule: the Sherman Oaks Community Farmers Market. This farmers market is every Saturday, rain or shine, from 8 AM to 1 PM and is sponsored by the Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce. There is a wide variety of produce vendors, artisanal foods and beverages, entertainment, and much more. We are excited to join in on the fun!

The Sherman Oaks Community Farmers Market is at Sepulveda Blvd. and Camarillo St., just North of the Sherman Oaks Galleria.

Welcome Back Yamashiro Farmers Market

Last year Longshot Coffee began our participation in the Yamashiro Farmers Market. This fantastic outdoor market is held every Thursday evening at the Yamashiro Restaurant in the Hollywood Hills. We are excited to join our friends at the Yamashiro Farmers Market this year for the re-opening on Thursday, April 7th, 2011. This market not only boasts spectacular views of the city, it also features of wide variety of California specialties such as fresh produce, artisanal prepared foods and beverages. We have enjoyed spending every Thursday evening with our friends at Yamashiro and we look forward to another amazing year.

On Thursday April 7th, Longshot Coffee will be running a re-opening night special: mention you are a fan of Longshot and receive two drinks for the price of one!

The Yamashiro Farmers Market is located at 1999 N. Sycamore Avenue in Hollywood and is held every Thursday, starting April 7th, from 5 to 9 PM.

The 2011 Coachella Music Festival

On behalf of team Longshot, we are excited to announce our involvement with the 2011 Coachella Music Festival. This will be our very first time participating at the festival and we are looking forward to an amazing three day weekend, from April 15th to 17th. We will be serving Longshot exclusively in the VIP tent so if you have access to the tent, please stop by and say hi!

We will be running a special Coachella promotion for those who follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and/or our website. Please mention you are a Longshot Fan (on Facebook or Twitter) and get two Longshot drinks for the price of one! We will be serving a wide variety of beverages and nothing beats a Longshot coffee (iced, of course) to get you through a long day of music, fun and sun.

The 2011 Coachella music festival sold out faster than previous years and will feature an incredible lineup of bands such as Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, the Strokes, Kanye West, the Black Keys and many more.

A Block Party on Wisteria Lane

Longshot Coffee is pleased to invite you to A Block Party on Wisteria Lane hosted by The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on Saturday, April 16th, 2011. This special evening will give you the unique opportunity to party the night away on the actual set of Desperate Housewives. The block party will include the Longshot Coffee full service espresso bar, a silent auction, an old-fashioned barbeque from the stone-fire grill, and the music of the Band From TV. Celebrities from the hit show will be attendance including Teri Hatcher and James Denton.

More importantly, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation raises money to find the cure for a disease that affects 30,000 children and adults in the U.S. Currently, there is no cure. Ninety cents on the dollar raised from this event will go to the Foundation for research.

The Block Party will be held from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM at the Universal Studios Back Lot.

Southwest Arts Festival

Longshot Coffee mobile espresso bar will be at the 2011 Southwest Arts Festival in Indio, California. This year is the 25th anniversary of the festival which will be held over the course of 3 days: January 28th, 29th, and 30th. The festival features over 250 acclaimed artists showcasing traditional, contemporary, and abstract fine art and quality crafts. We invite you to come celebrate the festival with your friends from Longshot!

The Southwest Arts Festival is located at the spacious Empire Polo Club, a Coachella Valley landmark surrounded by beautiful desert scenery. Tickets are $10 for a day pass or $20 for a 3 day pass. Festival hours are 10 AM to 5 PM.

The Kennel Club of Palm Springs will be showcasing two world-class all breed shows at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Whether you are a show competitor, a dog owner, or just a lover of dogs, the Kennel Club Dog Show will delight canine fans of all ages. Watch hundreds of breeds and their handlers during one of the largest and best dog shows in the country.

Longshot says G’day USA 2011

Longshot Coffee is excited to announce our participation in the 2011 G’Day USA. G’Day USA: Australia Week is an annual program designed to showcase Australian business capabilities in the USA. The nationwide program of events kicks off on January 15th and ends on January 29th, 2011.

The 2011 G’Day USA 14-day program brings new business, art, education and tourism events to eight cities (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, Denver, Houston, Boston and New York) with the goal of strengthening bilateral collaboration and realizing new business opportunities.

Longshot will be participating in various G’Day USA events in Los Angeles. These events include the LA Black Tie Gala on January 22nd, the Urban Water Forum on January 19th – 21st, the Victoria & Tasmania CEO Golf Day on January 17th, and more.

The Los Angeles Taste of the World

The Los Angeles Taste of the World: November 5th – 7th, 2010. Longshot Coffee will be participating in the 2010 Los Angeles Taste of the World Festival. This unique 3 day festival represents five continents over a 22 acre movie studio in downtown Los Angeles. Come celebrate “the food event of the year” with music, food, wine, and dance from Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and the Americas. Longshot Coffee will be representing our home country, Australia, with our delicious espresso based beverages. We will be the only coffee vendor so come by to get your caffeine fix during the festival!

In addition to the five continents of food, the festival will also feature a Green World Pavilion, Technology World Pavilion, World Travel Pavilion, Children’s World Pavilion and a Healthy World Pavilion.

Tickets are $10 for a day pass or $24 for a three day pass. The Taste of the World Festival will be located at the Los Angeles Center Studios at 1201 West 5th Street Los Angeles 90017.

A Farewell and a Thank You

On Thursday, October 28th, we said farewell to our friends at Yamashiro Garden Market. Longshot Coffee has had the pleasure in participating in the Garden Market since it’s opening day in March. In the last eight months, we have experienced the unique opportunity to be a part of a community within the Garden Market. We would like to give big thank you to Nick Spano and his team at LA City Farm for all their hard work and dedication. We are fortunate to have been a participant in what we consider to be one of very best local farmers markets in Los Angeles. We are looking forward to next year’s Yamashiro Garden Market reopening on March 3rd, 2011.

Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco

On October 17th, 2010, Nike will celebrate the seventh year of the Nike Women’s Marathon and half Marathon in San Francisco, California. Longshot Coffee is pleased to announce that our mobile espresso bar will be featured in the VIP tent during the event.

This world wide coveted marathon has close to 40,000 eager runners signing up every year. Only a lucky 20,000 women are then chosen by raffle to participate in the event. We invite you to join Longshot Coffee this Sunday to proudly support these 20,000 remarkable women. Every competitor is running to raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The race begins promptly at 7:00 AM in Union Square.
